General guidelines
> Applicants must be at least 15 years old to apply.> No prior experience needed to apply.> Applicants must have a linkable portfolio [Deviantart, artstation, google drive, AO3, etc...].
↳ If submitting a Google drive link [or anything like it], make sure that we can view it. If a portfolio isn't visible, it won't be taken into account.
↳ Do not submit social media that is cluttered with stuff other than your artwork/writing.> You'll be asked, but not limited, to submit your best 3 pieces with your portfolio to see what kind of work you'd like to do for the zine.
↳ All samples can be in your portfolio as well but will still need to be send separated be it as a link to the picture or post.> Your portfolio doesn't need to have Splatoon samples but it is encouraged.> You'll need to submit your portafolio, sample and references as links.> We won't accept portfolios with NSFW, suggestive illustrations or (heavy) gore.

Art guidelines
> 2D and 3D artists will be accepted, digital or traditional.> For traditional artists make sure that you can scan your work in 300dpi.> This zine will be formatted in A4 300 dpi spread.> Have at least 1 background in your portfolio.> Page artists will be asked to draw a full page A4 illustration, a A3 spread illustration or a two A4 pages (A3 spread) comic.> Minor injuries/blood will be allowed to be shown in the zine's assignment.
↳ Gore and NSFW is still prohibited.----Musical guidelines> For your portfolio and samples, we'd just like to see the type of music you make. Any type of music is completely fine!> For your zine assignment, any genre or style is fair game.
↳ To give some examples, you can make a melody that can blend seamlessly with the alterna soundtrack, a remix, full lyrical song about the story mode, acoustic, acapella....> Your songs/compositions can be as long as you wish.
↳ It can be something as small as a ringtone or big as an album... It's all up to you!> We cannot provide music programs, assets nor samples.> There is no dedicated music mod at the time.
↳ Hosts Rebi and Tari do have a background in musical education; Tari has some composition experience along with their family and Rebi was involved in different musical ensembles not so long ago. Both hosts compose music on their free time.

Writer guidelines
> All samples must be in English.
↳ You are allowed to show samples in other languages w an english translation attached to it's original.> All sample files must be sent as links.
↳ If possible, keep the font constant throughout the pages and samples. (it would be highly preferred for the font to be "Arial" or "New Times Roman" both with 12 points).> For stories, the 3 samples of writing must have a minimum word count of 500 and a maximum word count of 2K. You can show us more following this requirements as long as the total word count of all your samples don't go over 5K.> For poets, your 3 samples can go from 2 to 15 pages of writing. Individual poem's length doesn't matter as long as you show us various samples if they're mostly short ones.> "One Shots" are highly preferred but excerpts are also accepted.> Writers and Poets will be asked to keep the length of their writing lesser than or exactly 6 pages.
↳ You will be asked to keep the length of their zine's dedicated writing to a number of uneven or even pages depending on the assigned kettle.
↳ You'll be able to write an action story, an excursion gone wrong, a mission log, reports... Anything as long as it fits the kettle and Alterna.

"Zine" comes out of "magazine". Zine means a small magazine usually made by oneself or in a group of people, and often about a niche subject (in this case, Splatoon).Q: How will communication work during the creation of the zine?
All communication and organization will be over Discord in the zine's dedicated server we will share with all contributors later. This is to make things more organized and be sure all are in one place.Q: How many contributors will you be accepting?
We will be accepting 1 artist per kettle and site, making it a total of 86. We look forward to accept a similar amount of writers to compliment the art pieces made for each kettle.
Writers, Merch Artists, Musicians and artists employing any other art form do not have a established cap and are welcome to apply.Q: Do I need prior zine experience to apply?
Not at all! There is always a first time for everything.Q: What is a pinch hitter?
In case someone needs to drop out of the zine, a pinch hitter is called to fill that contributor's place. Please be weary if you are applying as one as you'd have less time to work on your piece than others.Q: Can I reuse a piece/drawing for the zine?
No, you will be asked to make a new piece dedicated for the zine. This is to avoid any complications such as wrong format, dpi, color profile...Q: How will contributors be compensated?
Because the zine is a free PDF, so far none. Still, contributors will be allowed to make merch/prints of their pieces for sale after release.Q: Are we allowed to use our own agent ocs?
All contributors are allowed to use their own Neo 3 OCs in their pieces, as well as any interpretation of the canon cast, other agents and involved OCs.
